2007 JA Job Shadow Day With the SBA a Great Success!

Thanks to the support of countless businesses, schools, agencies, and organizations at the national, state, and local levels, young people gained an up-close look at the world of work through Junior Achievement's recent job shadowing events.

On Capitol Hill, JA students from nine JA offices shadowed the offices of more than 30 members of Congress, as well as personnel at several federal agencies. Participating agencies included the U.S. Treasury Department, Small Business Administration, and U.S. Departments of Education and Labor. Job shadowing also occurred at national media outlets and the New York Stock Exchange.

JA Job Shadow Day with the SBA presented a unique view of how the Agency supports America's small business development through policy formulation, program and service delivery.

During their day at the U.S. Small Business Administration, students were able to shadow senior leadership in the Office of Entrepreneurial Development. Pictured here are JA of the National Capital Area students Shayne Wells and Abigail West, enjoying a shadow experience at the Small Business Administration Headquarters.
