Deadline:	February 1 for scholarship starting September of the same year.
Description:	The Achievement Foundation has established an award in honor of Mr. Hugh B. Sweeny, Jr. This award recognizes his many years of dedication and commitment to Junior Achievement and the thousands of young people he helped to shape. The Hugh B. Sweeny Achievement Award recognizes graduating seniors who demonstrate extraordinary results in impacting a community through entrepreneurship and similar initiatives.
Number Awarded:	One award is given annually.
Amount:	One-time award for $5,000.
Participation in:	Must have completed JA Company Program or JA Economics.
Collegiate Course of Study:	Major in any field of study.
Special Requirements:	A high school senior graduating before June 30. A minimum grade point average of 3.0. Must exemplify achievement, citizenship, creativity, leadership, motivation, and financial need.  Must write a 500-word essay on the following topic: Based on my experience and what I have learned in JA, what will it take to be a successful entrepreneur in tomorrow’s economy? Why?
Recommendation Letters:	Must provide three letters of recommendation supporting academic achievement, community involvement, and leadership skills.
