Capital One/Junior Achievement Finance Park

The Capital One/Junior Achievement Finance Park Story
With significant volunteer and financial support provided by
Capital One, the original Capital One/Junior Achievement Finance
Park was piloted in 2006 in McLean and Richmond, Virginia. This
pilot model consisted of two 53-foot trailers that transformed into
a 2,000-square-foot learning lab containing the Capital One/Junior
Achievement Finance Park “business fronts” and a separate classroom
area. This unit served as many as 45-50 students per day.
Following the success of the original mobile program, Capital One committed to support Capital One/Junior Achievement Finance Park for a second pilot during the 2007-2008 school year. This next “mobile” Finance Park was comprised of metal framework and large scale, dimensional, “business fronts” that were transported via a single 53-foot moving van. These displays and the accompanying classroom area could be set up in empty retail or office space and served 120 students per day. Although this new mobile look could still be moved from site to site, Junior Achievement and Capital One continued to evolve the mobile concept to optimize its efficiency and portability.
