Join JA Worldwide online in the 2009 Hewlett-Packard Global Business Challenge and see how effective you are at managing a corporation. As a participating student, you will take on the role of a corporate business leader by making corporate decisions to steer your business to success. Student teams compete globally for the chance to win first place.

The competition will commence in January 2009, and two representatives from the top eight teams will come together in August 2009 for the final round of competitions. The final round will determine the first-, second-, third-, fourth-, and fifth-place teams.

Deadlines
Note the deadline for registration below and review the competition schedule for each elimination round to ensure full participation. The competition takes place in three qualifying rounds. The fourth and final round will bring together two representatives from the top eight teams during the month of August.

Registration
Only JA Member Offices are eligible to register for the HP Global Business Challenge. In addition to paying the $70 entrance fee, all participating JA Member Offices must agree to submit team contact information into the registration system by the stated deadline. Registration will open October 2008 and will remain open until Friday, January 16, 2009. JA Member Offices wishing to participate in this competition must be Members in Good Standing. Teams who attempt to register after registration has closed will not be eligible to compete in the competition.

Payment
The $70 entrance fee is due upon completion of the online registration. Credit cards are the preferred method of payment.

Divisions
All participating students compete within their age groups during the two qualifying rounds. The HPGBC has two divisions: University (ages 18-22) and High School (ages 14-18). Student teams who advance to the final competition will compete against both age groups with no separation by division.
