How do you remember Junior Achievement?Do you remember it as the high school after-school program where you were to start your own business? Well, Junior Achievement has come a long way since those days! JA brings economic curriculum to all grade levels K-12 so that every child has a fundamental understanding of U.S. free enterprise system.
In today's Junior Achievement programs, a local businessperson, parent, retiree, or college student volunteers to go into the classroom and present a lesson plan, 1 day a week for 5-8 weeks. The 45-minute lesson is full of hands-on activities which provide students with the opportunity for critical thinking and discussion.
Junior Achievement's programs bring volunteers from the community face-to-face with area students through the simplest form of human interaction - sharing.
JA provides training for both volunteer and teacher. Evaluations from teachers and volunteers reflect the success of JA programs.
