During the 2008-2009 school year Junior Achievement of Eastern Oklahoma helped teach over 35,000 students relevant concepts of work readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy.  JA programs were delivered to students in 201 schools representing 52 districts throughout Eastern Oklahoma. 

Junior Achievement of Eastern Oklahoma does not charge public schools a fee for our JA classroom services in the Greater Tulsa Metropolitan area.  The business community, through corporate contributions, personal investments, foundation grants, and special events, provides total funding.  All investments are tax deductible under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. 

Junior Achievement of Eastern Oklahoma...

*Awarded 10 scholarships to participating JA school students.

*Engaged over 600 high school students in JA Investor Challenge.  Students buy and sell stock and learn through a hands-on "Wall Street" simulation the volatility of the stock market while competing with other students.

*Provided over 8,000 students in JA BizTownwith the opportunity to practice citizenship, voting, business operation, budgeting and personal finance in a realistic city setting designed for students in grades 4-6.

*Utilized business and community volunteers working with teachers to help classroom students (K-12) become financially literate, understand business and explore careers through JA Worldwide tested curricula.
