Elementary School Programs (5 Visits)

Junior Achievement's Elementary School Program is a first look at how education and economics are relevant in the workplace. A volunteer leads children from kindergarten to fifth grade through a series of interactive hands-on activities that demonstrate basic economic principles. Each level involves new activities that build upon past programs to prepare children for the future work environment.
Ourselves® (K)
Uses compelling stories read aloud by the volunteer with hands on activities to demonstrate helping, working, learning, and saving.
Our Families® (1st)
Emphasizes the role people play in the local economy and engages students with activities about needs, wants, jobs, tools and skills and interdependence.
Our Community® (2nd)
Explores the interdependent roles of workers in a community, the work they perform, and how communities work.
Our City® (3rd)
Studies careers, the skills people need to work in those careers, and how business contributes to a city.
Our Region® (4th)
Introduces the relationship between the natural, human, and capital resources found in different regions and explores regional businesses that produce goods and services for consumers.
Our Nation® (5th)
Examines how businesses operate in the
JA BizTown™ (5th)
(Volunteers provided by participating schools). Combines an interactive four-week classroom curriculum with a day at the Junior Achievement BizTown facility, where students operate all aspects of their own city.
JA More than Money™ (3rd - 5th after school)
Teaches students about earning, spending, sharing and saving money, and businesses they can start or jobs they can perform to earn money.
