Afterschool efforts utilize a variety of Junior Achievement’s K-12 grade business, economic, and entrepreneurship programs to create rich, engaging after-school experiences for young people in communities across New. Implementing JA programs in an after-school setting allows for a valuable educational experience to take place in a safe environment for kids when they are outside of school. JA of New Mexico is member of the New Mexico Out-of-School Time Network (NMOSTN). NMOSTN is a project of the New Mexico Forum for Youth in Community focused on building a diverse statewide afterschool network; garnering the resources necessary to support NM out-of-school time opportunities for school-age children; assessing breadth and depth of out-of-school time programming in NM and tying to varied program supports; and influencing NM State policy and legislation as defined by out-of-school time network stakeholders from across NM.
