2008 JA Golf Tournament

Jackson, MS – The 2008 Junior Achievement Golf Tournament was held on Friday, May 2 at the beautiful Colonial Country Club – Deerfield Course in Madison County. Sponsored by BancorpSouth, this annual event draws avid golfers from across the Jackson Metro area. The day’s festivities kicked off with registration at 11:00 a.m. followed by lunch in the clubhouse. Rain clouds threaten to ruin the afternoon, but an earlier start time aided in getting everyone on the course in advance of rain.

Participating companies with golf teams included: AT&T; BancorpSouth; BankPlus; Delta Industries; Community Bancshares; Horne LLP; Maris, West, and Baker; Parkway Properties; Regions Bank; Comcast; Saks, Incorporated; St. Dominic Health Services and Trustmark Bank.

First, second, and third place team members were presented with gift certificates to the Colonial Country Club Pro Shop. First place in the tournament was awarded to Bancorp South Team Three: Kevin McBrayer, B.J. Dunn, Paul Graham, and Kenny Saxton. Second place was awarded to AT&T: Randy Russell, Bobby Waites, Richard Morgan, and Crowell Armstrong. Third place prizes went to Maris, West, and Baker: Brian Roach, Webb Collums, Christian Carter, and Walt Fagan.

Several companies contributed to the 2008 event through sponsorship and door prize donations. Money raised at the annual golf tournament goes directly toward programs that impact elementary, middle, and high school students across Mississippi.
