HIGH SCHOOL PROGRAMS:

The High School Program strives to help students develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to become productive citizens and workers.

 

JA ECONOMICS- Tenth through twelfth grade students relate economic concepts and business principals to real-life situations.  The class may run a Student Company and take part in computer-based situations. 

 

JA COMPANY PROGRAMS- Guided by volunteers from the local community, students organize a corporation and in the course of 15 weeks: sell stocks to raise capital, elect officers, buy materials, manufacture and market a product, pay a dividend to stockholders, and liquidate their company.

 

JA SUCCESS SKILLS- Students learn skills necessary for the modern workplace, including interpersonal skills, teamwork, critical thinking, and problem solving strategies.

 

JA LEADERSHIP- Challenges students to become community leaders by identifying the characteristics of leaders, studying local economic development, working in community service and practicing leadership skills.

 

GROUNDHOG JOB SHADOW DAY- This one day experience pairs students with professionals in the workplace for a closer look at careers and the relevance of education to success.

 

JA TITAN- An Internet-based program designed to demonstrate the effects of economic conditions and business decisions on companies and their industries.

 

JA PERSONAL FINANCE- Online curriculum that contains five major instructional areas: Income, Money, Management, Spending and Credit, Savings and Investing, and Risk Management.
