Involvement in the JA Academy means giving high school students the tools they need to cultivate personal success. Working together, we have an opportunity to shape the future of young people throughout the Boston area by providing a foundation for achievement that serves to connect them to the free enterprise system, institutions of higher education, and the world of work.

JA is currently looking for partners to join with us in expanding the
JA Academy to reach more than 250 students during the 2008-2009 year by providing:

  Corporate & College/University Student Mentors - JA Academy mentors serve as part of a three or four-person team to facilitate the 12-week JA Academy program. Mentors attend class once per week from 3:30-5:30pm. Weekly class preparation time is approximately one hour.  It is a fun-filled learning experience for both you and the high school students you will be working with.

  Guest Speakers - JA Academy guest speakers attend one class, one afternoon. Guest Speakers are matched to JA Academy lessons aligned with their career or industry or industry.  As a guest speaker, you expose students to different careers while highlighting the path that you took to get where you are today.  After speaking about your career, you may also interact with the students to support their weekly company activities.  Click here to sign up!

  Funding Support - Junior Achievement is currently seeking funding to support JA Academy operations, as well as individual/corporate sponsors for JA Academy Contest and Awards.

  Student Board Meeting Site Hosts - JA Academy student companies conduct two board meetings each session. Site hosts are asked to provide meetings space for approximately 25 students and mentors, a company contact to welcome the students and provide an overview of the company, and light refreshment.

  JA Academy Scholarships - Junior Achievement seeks to identify individuals and/or corporations with an interest in providing scholarship opportunities to JA Academy Seniors for the purpose of furthering their education.
