Here we are again, halfway through the school year at Junior Achievement of Michiana! Again, we need your help, both in volunteering in the classroom and in the financial support to make these programs possible.
2011.2012 Program Schedule
Right now, though, we would like to take a moment to thank all of the volunteers and contributors who made it possible for us to reach 7,763 students in 336 classrooms with over 41,500 hours of economic education during the 2010/2011 school year:

Program Highlights, 2010/2011
During the 2010-2011 school year, 280 students of Brenda Wishin's classes at LaSalle Intermediate in South Bend participated in JA of Michiana’s financial literacy programs. 6th grade classes participated in JA Economics for Success, in which they learned about budgeting and the use of credit. 8th grade students participated in JA Personal Finance, which introduced to them the importance of making wise financial decisions that meet personal goals: Pay yourself first, budgeting, saving, spending and investing. Crowe Horwath, Fifth Third Bank, Key Bank, Kruggel, Lawton & Company, Lake City Bank, LPL Financial, Mutual Bank, and Teachers Credit Union provided the ten volunteers who presented the programs.
Thanks to our partnership with the United Way of Marshall County, all 6th graders in Marshall County, IN, were again offered JA Economics for Success, a great work readiness and financial literacy program. Students learned about budgeting and the use of credit, while thinking about careers and the steps necessary to attain those careers.
See who else is sponsoring JA classes!
