Parents :: What is JA?
We are the passionate people behind a movement that seeks to prepare and inspire young people to succeed in a global economy. Located in Colorado Springs, Junior Achievement Headquarters provides support for nearly 150 U.S. offices, and International Members in nearly 100 countries that carry out the mission.
Junior Achievement reaches approximately 8 million students worldwide. Focusing on three content areas of: entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and work readiness, JA's age-appropriate curricula begins at the elementary school level, teaching children how they can impact the world around them as individuals, workers and consumers. JA programs continue through the middle and high school grades, preparing students for future economic and workforce issues they'll face.
We do all this with the help of our volunteers. Volunteers who so care about our youth they take time out of their day to make a difference. How do we know this? We have external evaluators measure the impact of our programs. We recently completed a comprehensive two-year study of our high school programs. For more information, see JA Programs. Junior Achievement is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization sponsored by corporate and individual contributors.
