Workforce of Today and Tomorrow

For Manpower, social responsibility extends beyond writing a check to a charitable cause. It’s about strengthening communities by promoting the importance of diversity and creating opportunities for all people to participate in the workforce. Junior Achievement and Manpower are longtime partners and together are committed to preparing the workforce of tomorrow.

In the 2007-08, Manpower supplied more than 260 volunteers who reached more than 4,500 students around the world. In addition to significant volunteer participation in the classroom, Manpower provides seven board members to JA Members both in the U.S. and internationally, including Jonas Prising, President - North America, Manpower, Inc., who joined the Junior Achievement USA and Junior Achievement Boards of Directors in December 2007, and Lars Petter Ørving, Managing Director EMEA North and East Region, Manpower AS, who serves on the JA-YE Europe Board of Directors.

What's New

  • In July 2008, Manpower entrusted $1,125,000 to Junior Achievement for the global title sponsorship of the high school work-readiness program, JA Success Skills®, and sponsorship of the Career Center in the JA Finance Park® in their hometown, Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Additionally, Manpower is driving participation from their 33,000 employees and from the employees of their 400,000 client-companies to volunteer to teach the JA Success Skills program.

  • Manpower’s five-year, $225,000 investment in the Career Center of Junior Achievement of Wisconsin’s JA Finance Park will support program updates and enhancements, training, marketing, and evaluation.
