Since 2004, the GE Foundation has committed more than $5.4 million to JA Worldwide® with most of that being passed on to local JA operations around the world. GE’s commitment in JA programs has supported more than 70 International and U.S. JA Member Offices and impacted more than100,000 young people in underserved communities.

The GE Foundation’s commitment to JA Worldwide is truly international in scope. GE has provided crucial start-up funding for JA India and expansion support in the Middle East and China. GE has also invested in the European Summit for Educators.

GE also has a stellar record of volunteer service to JA Members. GE employees commit more than 20,000 hours of volunteer service each year to JA activities around the globe. GE executives also serve on local, regional, and national boards of directors.

What’s New with the Partnership

  • GE Foundation was recently honored with the Gold President's Volunteer Service Award. In 2006, JA Worldwide became an official certifying organization for this award in order to bestow this degree of honor to corporations that provide volunteers to teach JA programs. GE Foundation's Gold Award recognizes 15,000 volunteer hours or more.
