Cash Prizes and Travel
The following travel scholarship and prizes will be awarded:
Travel scholarships will be awarded to the top three teams of two students from each participating region. The scholarship covers the cost of airfare, lodging, meals, and activities.
- Airfare for economy travel to and from the competition held in Wilmington, Delaware.
- Accommodations (double/triple occupancy for students during the competition.
- All meals while at the competition.
- All expenses for planned activities related to the competition.
Six students and two chaperones from each participating region will travel to the final round in August 2012 to compete in person. The following cash prizes will be awarded in U.S. dollars to the top five teams determined in the final face-to-face-round:
- First Place: $3,000
- Second Place: $2,000
- Third Place: $1,000
- Fourth Place: $500
- Fifth Place: $250
