Joyce Hall revolutionized the greeting card industry with an innovation that is taken for granted today–the display case. He replaced the piles of cards stacked under counters with a case that had slots for each card and reorder forms behind the last card so he seller could keep track of which cards were selling well. Hall was the first to nationally brand greeting cards. He also convinced TV networks to broadcast his “Hallmark Hall of Fame” specials, breaking the policy that TV time would be sold only in 13-week blocks. |
