Georges Doriot was a great teacher and the leader of American Research & Development Corp., one of the most successful companies to stimulate innovation by deploying risk capital. A.R.D was formed in 1946, by Karl T. Compton and others interested in continuing the innovative momentum that business had generated during World War II. Returning to the States after the War, Doriot assumed the leadership of A.R.D. He was interested in matching ideas with the people who could best develop them.
