Walter E. Disney, an entrepreneur of images, had a profound influence on American culture. He inspired people to work at levels that they couldn’t have approached without his leadership and imagination. Disney’s Mickey Mouse was succeeded by the Silly Symphonies, breaking new technical ground in the coordination of sound and color. His first feature-length cartoon was Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and he blended innovative animation with stirring classical music in Fantasia. When he turned his attention to theme park design, Walt achieved effects of structural coordination stirring the imaginations of city planners. |
