Frank Shrontz joined Boeing in 1958 after receiving a law degree from the University of Idaho and an MBA from Harvard in 1973. He was appointed assistant secretary of the Air Force and in February 1976 became an assistant secretary of defense. Shrontz rejoined Boeing in January 1977 and retired as Chairman of the Board and CEO on February 1, 1997.
He has served as a member of the board of directors of Boise Cascade Corporation, ChevronTexaco, 3M, Citicorp and the Seattle Mariners. He is also a regent emeritus of The Smithsonian Institution and active in numerous civic and charitable organizations. He is married to the former Harriet Houghton and they have three sons. |
