Don Keough joined The Coca-Cola Company in 1950 and held many key positions until he was elected president, chief operating officer and director in 1981. From 1986 to 1993, he served as chairman of the Board of Coca-Cola Enterprises, Inc., the world’s largest bottling system. As president, Keough oversaw the introduction of highly successful products including Diet Coke.
Keough’s accomplishments beyond Coca-Cola include serving on the boards of Columbia Pictures, Inc., The Washington Post Company, H.J. Heinz Company, and The Home Depot. At one point, he was president of one Fortune 500 company and chairman of the board of two others. He currently serves as chairman of Allen & Company, and is on the boards of McDonald’s Corporation, USA Interactive and YankeeNets.
He is a life trustee of the University of Notre Dame and trustee of several charitable and educational institutions, including Morehouse Medical School. |
