Mike Curb has been an influential part of the recording industry since the 1960s. He has been a successful songwriter, producer, and record company executive. In 1969 at the age of 25, Curb was appointed president of MGM records where he instituted many strategic changes that the recording industry had never witnessed. In the late 1970s and early 1980s, Curb turned his attention to politics, serving as California’s lieutenant governor. After a stint in the political arena, Curb re-entered the music business by starting his own successful recording company, Curb Records, whose affiliated artists include such top country talent as Tim McGraw, Hank Williams, Jr. and The Judds.
