After running a successful bookkeeping business, Henry and his brother, Richard, formed H&R Block, Inc. in 1955 in order to offer tax preparation to the general public. Every year more than 10 million taxpayers utilize one of nearly 8,000 locations across the United States for assistance in filing their taxes. The company continues to expand its scope, with an H&R Block office serving every U.S. city with a population over 5,000. | ||||||||
