Chicken hasn't been the same since 1930 when Colonel Harland Sanders opened his first restaurant in Corbin, Kentucky. Although Colonel Sanders dropped out of school at age 12, he went on to run the world's largest chicken restaurant chain. He had more than 600 franchised outlets in 1964 when he sold the company for $2 million. Today KFC has 10,300 restaurants in 83 countries.
