Simon Ramo was a brilliant scientist who had 25 patents by age 30. He also was an excellent businessman who helped start two FORTUNE 500 companies, TRW and Bunker Ramo. As chief of operations at Hughes Aircraft, he recruited the cream of America's scientists and turned the company into a leading producer of electronic weapons systems. Frustrated by Hughes' management, he started his own electronics company in 1953. The company merged with Thompson Products in 1958 to form Thompson-Ramo-Wooldridge (TRW). TRW grew to be an industrial giant. |
