H. Ross Perot started Electronic Data Systems with $1,000 in savings. EDS grew rapidly by developing large computer systems for government agencies. In 1984, Perot sold EDS to General Motors. Perot accepted a large amount of stock in partial payment and joined GM's board. At GM, he introduced proposals for radical culture change. When GM did not heed his advice, Perot sold his shares back to GM. | ||||||||
