Howard Morgens used television advertising to boost his company to extraordinary revenues and earnings. As Procter & Gamble's advertising manager, his expenditures accounted for more than 10 percent of all network revenues. Morgens later directed a new subsidiary, P&G Productions, producing TV soap operas and "slice of life" commercials. His 17 years at the helm of P&G were the greatest growth years in its history. He expanded the P&G’s products, moved into foreign markets, and encouraged internal competition to spur innovation and growth. |
