George Moore served as an aide to James Perkins, the president of a trust company affiliated with National City Bank. When Moore headed domestic operations, he pushed for the bank’s entry into real estate and leasing. He also expanded consumer loans. As head of foreign operations, he set up new branches at a pace that frightened more conventional associates, expanding into 104 countries and generating 62 percent of Citibank’s profit. |
