Forrest E. Mars obtained the foreign rights to Mars Inc.’s products and adapted Milky Way and packaged pet foods to market in Britain. He returned to the United States and began making M&M's. He also adopted a new processing technology and a revolutionary method of processing rice to produce Uncle Ben's. His company, Food Manufacturers, grew to be the largest privately held company in the United States. | ||||||||
