Donaldson Foundation Grants Junior Achievement $100,000 to Expand its Impact to Donaldson Plant Cities

Donaldson U.S.-based employees vote to recommend JA grant

MINNEAPOLIS – April 28, 2011 – The Donaldson Foundation, a long time supporter of Junior Achievement of the Upper Midwest (JAUM), announced today that it will grant Junior Achievement USA™ (JA) $100,000. This funding will enable Junior Achievement USA  to establish middle and high school programs in the communities in which Donaldson U.S. employees live and work. These programs educate students on entrepreneurship, work readiness and financial literacy through hands-on activities.

Junior Achievement USA was selected out of three deserving non-profits by Donaldson U.S –based employees for the $100,000 grant. Subsequently, the Donaldson Foundation board of directors ratified this choice to fund the non-profit so many employees already support in the local community.

Jack E. Kosakowski, President and Chief Executive Officer of Junior Achievement USA, noted, "Junior Achievement is honored to receive this significant endorsement from Donaldson employees. JA programs help students make the critical connections between what they learn in school and life after graduation, and as JA continues to work toward improving the U.S. high-school graduation rate, engaging key partners who can help deliver JA experiences to our young people is critical."

"JA's endorsement by Donaldson employees is likely an extension of the positive experience so many of them have had volunteering through JA of the Upper Midwest in local schools," stated Kristine Graham, Donaldson Foundation President. "We're excited to expand JA's positive impact into the classrooms in our plant cities. This grant aligns well with the Foundation's mission to positively impact the communities in which its employees live and work by supporting education."

Established in 1966, the Donaldson Foundation funds charitable causes on behalf of Donaldson Company, Inc. Since 1991, the Foundation has contributed 2% of the company's U.S. earnings each year, making it a Minnesota Keystone participant. Its mission is to positively impact the communities in which its employees live and work by supporting education.
