Junior Achievement Announces Promotion |

JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT'S JOHN BOX PROMOTED TO SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT, EDUCATION Colorado Springs, Colo. – Dr. John Box, Junior Achievement's Vice President of Product Development and Support, has been promoted to Senior Vice President, Education. In his new role, Dr. Box will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of all Junior Achievement's K-12 work readiness, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy curricula, which currently reach 8.3 million youth a year globally. Dr. Box began his career in education in 1970 as a classroom teacher in the Racine Unified School District in Racine, Wisconsin. He became principal at Homestead High School in Mequon, Wisconsin in 1984, and in 1990 took the position of superintendent of the Hartland Arrowhead School District in Hartland, Wisconsin. He served in that capacity in the Monona Grove School District in Monona, Wisconsin and the Mequon-Thiensville School District in Mequon, Wisconsin before joining Junior Achievement’s worldwide headquarters in 2004. Sean C. Rush, JA Worldwide's president and chief executive officer, commented, "John's wealth of experience on the front lines of our education system make him well-qualified to oversee Junior Achievement's program development. I look forward to working with him to continually evolve our curricula to ensure their relevance to the students we serve." Dr. Box earned his BS and MS degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Stout in Menomonie, Wisconsin, and his Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. His doctoral work was in the School of Education's Department of Curriculum and Instruction. Dr. Box represents JA Worldwide as a member of The Partnership for 21st Century Skills, presently serving as that organization's national board chair. During his career, Dr. Box has received numerous honors including being named Wisconsin Superintendent of the Year in 2000. About Junior Achievement® -30-
