JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT
PROVIDES VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES UNDER NEW FREEDOM CORPS
FINANCIAL LITERACY INITIATIVE
Colorado Springs, Colo. – USA
Freedom Corps has announced a new Financial Literacy Volunteer
Initiative designed to mobilize volunteers who can help
Americans improve their financial literacy, and assist those
facing foreclosure with tools to help them keep their homes.
Through its K-12 financial literacy programs, Junior Achievement
offices across the country provide volunteer opportunities which
help educate youth about effective money management skills.
As part of President Bush’s continuing
focus on increasing Americans’ financial literacy, the White
House recently formed the President’s Advisory Council on
Financial Literacy. Junior Achievement is represented on the
Council by Jack E. Kosakowski, executive vice president and
chief operating officer of JA Worldwide, and president of Junior
Achievement USA.
Kosakowski noted, “Americans have the
opportunity to have a positive impact on the current mortgage
crisis—one of the most critical economic issues of our time—and
decrease the likelihood that it will reoccur in the future by
contacting their local Junior Achievement office to volunteer in
their communities. JA provides the training and materials, and
has volunteer opportunities that can fit into anyone’s schedule.
We make it easy to volunteer.”
To contact your local Junior Achievement
office to find out about volunteer opportunities in your area,

The Financial Literacy Volunteer
Initiative provides tools and resources for Americans interested
in sharing their financial services, for nonprofits in need of
skilled volunteers, and for homeowners seeking financial
guidance. To find or promote financial literacy volunteer
opportunities in your area and learn more about the President’s
