www.act.org The Career Planning Survey from ACT is a comprehensive career guidance program preparing students (grades 8-10) to make informed education and career decisions early in high school. The survey helps students develop personal plans, set career goals, and plan a program of studies to achieve those goals.

bensguide.gpo.gov is Ben’s Guide to U.S. Government with online activities for grades K-2, 3-5, 6-8, and 9-12. It also contains links to safe sites for children from the U.S. government.

www.bizkids.com - Biz Kid$ is an exciting, hip, TV show that teaches kids the basics of business by profiling kids who have successfully started their own business.

www.chadfoster.com offers resources for teenagers preparing for the real world.

www.economicadventure.org is a multi-layered education resource created by the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston for teachers, students, and the general public. The goal is to promote understanding of key economic concepts, including standard of living, economic growth, and rising labor productivity, using New England's unique history. This site features an illustrated, information-packed timeline, case studies, lesson plans, games, an overview of New England's economy, term definitions, and reference resources.

www.figurethis.org promotes math education at home (with family involvement).

www.jist.com offers "Becoming the Best Me," an engaging book that helps develop character education and life skills as they relate to careers.

www.jumpstartcoalition.org offers a clearinghouse of personal finance education materials for use in Kindergarten through 12th grade classrooms as well as Reality Check, an online assessment students can take to determine how ready they are for the "real world."

www.kidmagnet.com has a plethora of links and resources for youngsters and teenagers on a variety of relevant topics.

www.lavamind.com is made up of three unique simulations designed to teach students business, math, and economics.

www.maps101.com is an online map resource with a vast collection of Internet-delivered maps for viewing and printing.

www.moneyopolis.com offers an online math game, which requires users to demonstrate math skills in the context of some real life money matters. Sites for parents and educators are included.

www.nationalhonorroll.org gives recognition to high school and middle school students who have attained outstanding academic success and provides customized services as they apply to college.  

www.odci.gov/cia/publications/factbook provides country profiles through the CIA’s World Factbook.

www.smg2000.org is an online stock market game for students with additional information for parents and educators.

Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) Education Foundation  The SME Education Foundation provides educational programs to better prepare students to become tomorrow's leading engineers and technologists. The SME Education Foundation also provides financial support to students in order to help them realize a career in manufacturing.

www.whyville.net is an online community dedicated to learning through exploration and communication. In this virtual community, students engage in learning about science, economics and citizenship.

youthrules.dol.gov/ seeks to educate teens, parents, educators and employers regarding the rules for teens entering the U.S. workforce.
